Smulekoff's wants you to get the most from your wood furniture investment.  Below you will find some basic care instructions provided by the Guardsman line of furniture care products.

Do not place your furniture too close to a radiator or a similar source of heat.  Make sure that there is a minimum of two feet between your furniture and your heat source.  Extreme temperatures, especially heat, can cause your wood furniture to dry out and crack.

Protect your wood furniture from direct sunlight.

Wood furniture needs to be protected from humidity and moisture.  Try to maintain a consistent environment, not too dry or too humid, both can damage your wood furniture.  Also always protect from sitting water, as this can be absorbed by the wood creating a ring or discoloration of your wood and damage the finish.

Keep the wood free from dust particles by dusting with a clean soft cloth... preferably once a week.  If a spill occurs, wipe it up immediately.  Use a mild dishwashing solution to remove the spill if necessary.

Use a top quality wax and polish on your wood furniture.  The specific type of wax and/or polish to use will differ to best suit the variety of finishes available on wood products.
